Simon has over 15 years experience working on research, policy, and programme development in governance and conflict prevention. In 2014 Simon joined UNDP’s Bangkok Regional Hub and developed its approach on PVE in Asia. The innovative approach saw the creation of #ExtremeLives, an online video series bringing the stories of communities affected by violent extremism to a global audience with over 20 million online views. Prior to this Simon was UNDP’s Electoral Advisor for Asia and the Pacific, worked with the World Bank’s Conflict and Development Programme in Indonesia, and was a researcher for the Australian National University on regulatory governance. He has worked in over 20 countries and has a Ph.D. in Identity-Based Conflict from the Australian National University.
